. . .I finally caught photos of Decisive, just a few hours ago, coming into the sixth boro.
Some of you may recognize the crewman with the orange hard hat.
Decisive is in the cable business . . . i.e., these are the cable guys.
Since I’m right against my post time, I’ll keep the text especially sparse.
As I understand it, Decisive is not laying on the project; rather, she’s retrieving old cable that was already laid and now obsolete.
It was worth waiting in the rain to see her arrive.
I’m hoping that anyone with more info can tell more about the ship and its current mission.
All photos, WVD.

I don’t know whether you ever get any credit for your work, but I can tell you that your offerings are one of the high points of my day and I thank you. Peter Swords >

Thx, Peter. I do credit myself for all the photos I take. I credit others for theirs. And I do get great satisfaction from getting comments such as yours. As I’ve often told people who ask why I do the blog,it’s a research project for myself that has no defined end objective beyond research. Again, thanks for reading the blog and commenting.

It’s so interesting to finally see cable sheaves on the stern. As a ship watcher in diapers I used to wonder why the sheaves were over the bow instead of the stern. Once my mommy replaced my diapers with dungarees, I learned something about maneuvering and learned the reason why ships couldn’t be tied down by paying out cable over their sterns. But now, with thrusters, azipods, and DP, the sheaves can be back there where they belong. I’d call that “Progress”.
