The “Queen of Hearts”… Unravelling her mystery could contribute to the solution of the enigma, surrounding the only Mississipi steamer on the Rhine, with a similar questionable name. The paddlewheel of Bonn´s “River Lady“ even rotates backward!

Rembert– Thx for the perspective you bring to the comments here. I should do a post on Mississippi style steamers all over the world, esp with their magical if puzzling paddle wheel physics. I did, however, do a post a few months back about a vintage wooden ferry that had a functional and effective stern wheel: https://tugster.wordpress.com/2016/06/12/roaring-bull/
