I knew immediately once I saw the name–Lone Ranger–that this vessel had lurked upriver a few weeks, but as it approached showing only a frontal profile, I had as little clue as some folks 399 years ago had when Hudson entered the boro.  Nor from the name did I know anything about ownership.

The mystery for me –although reading about Wall Street bonuses for unsuccessful executives provides a clue–is how can a person amass the funds to buy so much personal vessel.

Any ideas on the owner?

He’s one Peter B. Lewis, former CEO of Progressive Insurance.   Lone Ranger was originally built in 1973 as deep sea salvage tug Simson.
