Here was the first dragon, and then coincidentally, two more entered recently, one right after the other.
The first one claimed to be happy,
but the second one . . .
its temperament depends on what we find out about Anderson . . . .
All photos, WVD, who asks you report once you learn more about Anderson. She was previously called Anderson Bridge.
Many thanks to Carl Burkett for drawing my attention to the Happy part of the first dragon’s name; let me amend this post with links to Happy Dynamic, Happy River, Happy Buccaneer, and Happy Rover. There are more to catch as seen in the BigLiftShipping website.

I too saw Happy Dragon last Sunday morning. I was doing a circumnavigation of Manhatten by kayak.
I was rounding the Battery to the East River when HD was starting up the North River.

Jim– It’s good to know there are at least several of us who pay action to dragons, happy or otherwise, in the boro . . . . You prompted me to look: that dragon is already in the anchorage off Brunswick GA!!

Too bad HD is already in GA. I was looking forward to your follow up images of her carrying an interesting outbound load through the harbor….

Was especially happy to read your blog this morning featuring the Big Lift Happy-type general cargo ship HAPPY DRAGON. Over the last few years I’ve caught HAPPY ROVER and HAPPY RIVER mostly hauling wind turbine pieces to a variety of port along the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River like last week, catch the RIVER across the river at the Port of Ogdensburg.
Here’s a like to my Facebook group post:

When I saw your blog, I thought 💭 hey, maybe I’ll catch HAPPY DRAGON transiting the St. Lawrence Seaway but after looking at her specs, her length at 515’ is okay but her width of 82’ is a tad to wide. As you know Seaway-max dimensions are 740’x80’. Anyhow I’d like to share you pics in my group but to give you an appropriate credit, I’d like your name, sir. I also have a blog, Carlz Boats but I haven’t written in awhile. Don’t know how you do it everyday. Regardless, keep up the good work. Carl

Thx for writing, Carl. I have seen your work. Because of yr comment, I went back and added a paragraph to yesterday’s post, linking to previous posts featuring BigLiftShipping vessels with “happy” as part of the name. I usually catch those things, but the dragons dominated my attention. Again, thank you. Here are more to catch: https://www.bigliftshipping.com/en/fleet/fleet-overview
