Evening twilight rarely finds me at the KVK. I should go there more often.

That’s the 1960 Pelham, originally launched as Esso Pelham.

For a 60 year old machine, she still looks good.

Back before the Esso name was phased out in 1972, she must have been a formidable tugboat.

Hello I have been enjoying your blog for a few years now. I worked at Zim Israel of Canada for 40 years, Was wondering if you ever tugged a Zim ship and/or written about it. Thanks and thanks for the blog.

Hi bus boy– Thx for writing. Type zim into the search window and you’ll get several pages of posts featuring Zim vessels.

Many many thanks for your continuing efforts to keep us entertained and informed. Much appreciated.
You do seem to have a wonderful playground in which to operate. May it ever remain so for you.
“A Guid New Year” to you , as we say in Scotland.

Robin– Thank you, and a happy, healthy, and well-entertained 2021 to you. NYC, for all its faults, is a great hometown, although I was past my half century when I moved here. It’s always great to hear from you.

Dear Will (De vliegende hollander?),
I guess you may be catching up with me in years. I passed my allocated three-score and ten a wee while ago. Keep going and stay safe.
