Wil, Vane in 2016 introduced new names for each fleet based on a nautical signal flag theme. Its is called Fleet flag designations. But looking at the blue flag on the Huntington, it looks like it has letters written on them…so not a signal flag. Maybe something honoring the fallen, seeing its at half mast. Maybe Paul B will see this post, he might know.

Thx, HT. It looked vaguely like “don’t give up the ship” so I thought maybe the captain was a history buff.

Now that I looked at it more closely, I think you are right. Good saying right around now. Stay Safe

“Don’t give up the ship” stems from a public relations coup that smoothed over a battle loss? So says Halsted. https://www.bostonglobe.com/ideas/2013/05/18/the-real-shameful-story-behind-don-give-ship/AVYGogGB9gtXrydeyRx1BP/story.html
