It’s a liftboat.
Her destination was the VZ Bridge, and sure enough, upon arrival
Seacor Supporter stopped her forward movement
less than a quarter mile from the bridge.
and began lowering her 200′ spuds.

Supporter is one of almost two dozen lifeboats operated by Seacor. Anyone know the job she’s here to do?

Never seen anything like it. I didn’t want to cheat and google it. I assume it isn’t a floating advertisement for #2 pencils, so maybe, it’s there to put its legs down, and winch something off the bottom??

Now that you mention it, they DO look like #2 pencils. But seriously . . . i’m told they’re doing core sampling. Other core sailing in the harbor has been happening recently as well. surprises to come, maybe? It isn’t just the other boros that never sleep….
