I’d love to know more about this launch . . . in terms of engine and performance.
“Launch” is what the pilot service calls this.
And this is the PSV (pilot station vessel) Polaris, which has operated off the Port of rotterdam for three plus years now.
For some great photos of pilot vessels all over the world, check this site by Mirjam Terpstra. Click here for more of her photos before Polaris was in service.
Many thanks to Freek Koning via Fred Trooster for these photos. Freek, a few years ago, asked me to try to discover the disposition of this former Royal Dutch Navy tugboat. My letters to various addresses in the USCG in reference to the lost tug went unanswered.

Little boys are Rotterdam/Rhine River Docking Pilots. As you know Holland is all interconnected, You can sail from Rotterdam to A’dam and most other Dutch Ports.
Re: Dutch Tug, Try DHS/DEA with a Freedom of Information Application. If she is not involved in current or past secret operations, they may actually tell you something. The Cg will not have any 40 year old records for what they would class as Other Vessels unless there was a CG involved Legal case or action.
Generally the “Motherships” served as loading stations for Go Fast Boats and Semi-submersibles. It sounds like they caught her, but she may have been repurposed.
