Aircraft about to land . . .
well . . yes, Philly’s airport is only a few miles to the south.
Recognize the aircraft carrier?
CV-67 has been mothballed since 2007. I’m just wondering whether there’s a tally of the number of crew who served aboard CV-67 in the almost four decades it was active.
Now . .. definitely, mothballed.
Until less than a year ago, Kennedy shared waterfront space with the Forrestal. Here and here are posts from February 2014 of Forrestal leaving Philadelphia and arriving in Brownville. Has anyone seen what’s left of the Forrestal today?

Hi Will;
Hope you and Bowsprit had a great Turkey Day.
Big fight brewing over Kennedy, Obama & Gates thought they’d gotten around it by naming a new Burke Class after Bobby, but they forgot about the sixty odd million screaming Baby Boomers who, like I, call JFK our President.
I don’t think we have been in Vietnam as long or as hard as were if Lady Bird (I knew two Germans, now dead, who were involved.) hadn’t engineered his assassination, and the cover-up (I am not a conspiracy theorist, but spent bullets don’t make right turns.).
Many people want her up in Boston Harbor, either with the Salem or by the Constitution.
Added to that a Chief I know says the Argentines are offering almost her build out cost for her and the Brits don’t want them to have her.

Hey Will Used to go in there to the Navy Yard on a Maritrans bunker barge. We could only pump fuel to their bunker barge, no direct transfer from us to any ship. Lots of history there, a who’s who of all the capital ships from the past.
