A quick set of odds and ends, a sampling of sights seen during my daily peregrinations. Let’s start with an odd one . . . one of a current five–I believe–subs in the Brazilian navy, headed here toward CMA CGM Opal out in the haze.
Anchor handler Normand Mariner here at anchor.
A wooden schooner/partyboat carries revelers.
A modern sloop slips past.
The personal yacht of a magnate remains in port as his fortunes churn and roil.
Out beyond heavy surf, it’s Savieros Gaivota.
Out of the morning haze, it’s Crest Olympus and barely above the horizon at this point, Deepstim Brasil II, a name I would not have understood a week ago.
And finally, not a vessel at all–although it looks like something straight out of the Roswell myth–the Niteroi Contemporary Art Museum designed by Oscar Niemeyer, who also had a hand in designing parts of this structure on the edge of the sixth boro.
Tchau and more soon.
