Left to right at the Narrows ahead of this front are Maersk Detroit, SSV Corwith Cramer, Oleander, and CMA CGM Utrillo.
SSV Corwith Cramer is a brigantine.
Also, racing in ahead of the storm was this unidentified sloop,
Hindu,
and Joan Turecamo with Nomadic Hjellestad.
And look at that rain.

So what is Wooley Bully? A pilot boat or old packet boat?
Just curious since my knowledge of the small older types of vessels is lacking.

David–
All I know is that Wooley Bully is a privately owned 56′ yacht built in 1958. Whether it ever served any purpose other than recreation, I can’t say. Of course, I could invent a story that says it’s Sam the Sham’s yacht . . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcguLZaMelE I’m a fan of tall tales as long as they’re not passed along as true.

Hey thanks for that much. I also just found your blog from backtracking the Arthur Kills ship graveyard articles mentioning the documentary.
I like what I see so far. So thumbs up.
I live at the confluence of the Delaware and Lehigh rivers and used to live in Chicago so water transport is something of a interest of mine. So this blog is kinda great.
Cheers.

Confluence . . . that puts you in or near Easton, PA? My daughter used to live in Allentown, but I never got much of a sense of the Lehigh from my visits there. Welcome as a reader. And if you ever have workboat or other . . . water photos you wish to share, I enjoy the social part of social media . . .
