Apparently, due to the occasional contact between the pilot boat’s bow and the ship being boarded, the Dutch carry their figureheads a little further aft. Perhaps she’s Foredecksprite, a relative of Bowsprite.

damn dutch! they’re always so independent and insightful. by the way, les, i have passed “we the drowned” onto another reader. i need to do a post about that book, clearly the best book i read in 2011.
